What book are you reading now?

I'm halfway through Insomnia by Stephen King. I read it first years ago and I'm just as charmed this time around. Yes, it has the creep factor but the protagonists are all seniors and it's a love story as well.

I don't like Electronic books - I prefer the old-fashioned feel of paper in my hands. I am currently reading "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. It is beautifully written, even if the subject matter is somewhat heavy. She has a way with her descriptions that is almost poetic.
My last book was "Foreskin's Lament" (can't remember the author's name) and it was BRILLIANT!

I've been enjoying Melody Carlson, lately. I found a couple of the Whispering Pines Series at the library, but only books 2 and 4 were available. Searched the online catalog and those are the only 2 available. I enjoyed the 86 Blossom Street series, too.

I am currently reading CATCHING FIRE by Suzanne Collins. It is the 2nd book in the HUNGER GAMES series of 3 books. Not really sure how I feel about this series and it is most definitely NOT the usual type of books I prefer. However, it is my understanding that it is a series that many of our middle schoolers are reading and my para in my kdg classroom is reading the series with her sons (and they are discussing it as they read...my kind of a mom!) so I have downloaded it to my Nook. I will have to say that it is riveting...hard to put it down.

I am reading a Lucky Harbor novel by Jill Shalvis. It was a paperback with 2 of her novels in it. It is quite entertaining. Very romantic and does have some bad language. Next on my list is "The Help". I still read books the old fashion way. lol

I'm reading the King of Thrones series also and I'm so frustrated by it!!! I like it but I want to go thru the book and read all the Individuals Chapters because I want to find out what happens to them. I like books that continue from one to the next but I'm ready to get to the end of this one and I'm only on the fourth book.
