I just downloaded iTunes.
I opened it up and attempted to search for music there but I keep getting the message "you need iTunes".
What am I doing wrong?
Do I need to restart my pc so iTunes will see itself?
Thanks

Uninstall and reinstall. Sometimes there are issues... make sure that your computer also downloaded quicktime with Itunes.

I fooled with it for a couple hours, restarted my pc twice, but it wouldn't let me sign in. So I created a second account with a different ID and password. Restarted pc again, but the same thing happened, I couldn't sign in.
So I gave up and finally uninstalled
I'll try a different music download site.
Thanks anyway.

You could try reinstalling it... it just might be the version of it... some people are having problems with the new update, such as I, who has songs skipping that never skipped before.... And the update before last Itunes would not recognize my Ipod... but that was fixed with the update... I'll post when it updates if interested.

i hear zune is good.

Oh thank you for the info.
I'll go check out Zune. I'd never heard of it.
I'm really disappointed with iTunes though. I'm going on vacation next week and I wanted to make a custom cd to listen to.
I may try iTunes again. Maybe I can get my SIL to get it to work. He's very pc-savvy.

After installing check for updates and let it update. Itunes is the best program for downloading music, movies, books, and apps for all apple products.

I only use itunes... I have over 4000 songs on itunes... my ex had zune, and I was not please with it... but he only had that cause he didn't want to follow what every one else was doing... Zune is okay... but I told him (at the time it was 2008) that if he wanted to use a crappy product and bend to the will of microsoft he is all in his right. But don't expect me to bend to Bill Gates will.

The only reason I don't own an apple computer is due to A. being to expensive and B. It's not a good gaming computer.

I did that right after I downloaded it (although I assumed the download would be the newest version, but I thought I'd check anyway). It never would recognize that I already had iTunes installed or let me sign in.
