Uh, TacoMama, I'm on your side! When someone tells you that your fabric is NOT vintage they're full of beans. What I am saying is 'vintage' is an indefinite term and therefore you should not be corrected for using it. You used 'vintage' in the accepted way among the sellers of second-hand goods.

My grouch is a general campaign against vintage precisely because of these kinds of misunderstandings. I bought some 'old' linen yesterday (36 inches). How 'old'? Who can tell? So how to describe the fabric? Don't know.

I thought I was being clever and cute. I am sorry I was offensive and hurt your feelings.

When my DDIL was selling things on E-Bay she discovered that clothes made even in the 80's were considered vintage. If the clothes are vintage why wouldn't the fabric be?

Green Heron, I accept your apology. It did hurt my feelings, but I have to forgive to be forgiven. Thank you for your apology. God bless.

TacoMama, I too, am on your side and sorry to hear once again that another board member has been "put down" for their post. I am finding this is happening more and more often by certain members and find it disheartening.
They say there are no quilt police on this board but...some just aren't wearing the uniform.
So sad for such a great board in general

Thank you. When I purchased this fabric, I had no idea of what would be going on in our lives in the next few years, but I need to sell things and not to get in trouble with the moderators, I guess I have said too much already. Thank all of you for your positive reinforcement. You give me encouragement and it lets me know that people do care. :)

IMHO 'vintage' is only one step up from that other hideous term:
'collectible'. And don't make me go THERE. :hunf:
Somebody needs to relax alittle bit. Take a time out and break into some of the VINTAGE you were referring to.

"Someone" was trying to be funny and really missed the mark and has apologized.
