What is vintage fabric?
#11
We all had this discussion before  and I will restate my scroogy, grinchy, opinion that by itself "vintage" has NO MEANING except when referring to grapes/wine making . I don't know who started using it incorrectly. Vintage______??? No meaning. Vintage '59, 1947 Vintage etc. mean made in the year stated.
IMHO 'vintage' is only one step up from that other hideous term:
'collectible'. And don't make me go THERE. :hunf:

There are no real dates to describe vintage usless you put a date on it like a vintage 1924 ford for example

It is only 3 pieces that I wanted to trade, but I have a lot more. May try and sell on ebay.

If you run quickly and quietly you may yet avoid the FauxSemantics Police. Now, RUN!

Don't let this arguing over semantics bother you. To you is is vintage because it is 36" wide. I accept that. I looked at your thread last night and didn't even notice or care whether it was "true vintage" or not. To me anything over 30 years old is vintage. We all have our own opinions. People need to get over themselves.
Just go ahead and offer your fabric for trade and if they don't like it, someone might.

Sorry, Green Heron, if you had the discussion and I missed it. I am not up on wine making in WV or any other place. Thank you, Barb44, for your caring response. I sure didn't mean to start the Civil War 2011. Can't put all I want to on here or the board police would shut my discussion down.. Thanks for helping me understand the wrong terms, but getting ugly isn't usually my way of doing things.

Had to look up Proseco.......never heard of it. Have a real problem with my sister's death (at 52) which was due to alcoholism and my brother's death (at 45) due to the same disease, if you call it a disease.
