I also liked an opal ring in one of the cases. It's turn of the century, very dainty but ornate.

We left the antique store without buying anything - I don't like to spend money on myself - He got half way to the car and said he was going back to use the Men's room. I didn't think anything of it and waited - gave the dogs some water. He's not a big one for surpises or anything. And he's already finished his Christmas shopping.

He came back to the car and said he was going to buy me one of the pin cushions but didn't know which one was best.... sooooooo I bought you this. It was the ring!!!!

What a wonderful day!!!
Beautiful ring, great story and Fabulous Hubby. Fortunately for me, my hubby is the same way!!!

That's the nicest gift of all. Thanks for sharing. Can you post a picture of the ring? Eiltcoq.

What a sweet thing for DH to do. I never would have given it a second thought either if my hubby said he needed to use the men's room. It is a beautiful setting. Opals are very soft gems, be gentle with it. It looks like it has a very secure setting.
