Woke up at 5 a.m. to no snow like the weathermen had predicted - par for the course I grumbled and headed back to bed. So at 10, my phone beeps with a picture message from my sister who lives on the mountain - 6 inches of snow! Drat I grumble, they always get snow and we don't! Go to let my dogs out (they are dancing with their legs crossed!), open the door, and there it is - beautiful, 4 inches of snow!

Just had to share this pic, it's been 20 years since we had snow on Christmas day. When we bought our house 10 years ago, I was looking forward to getting a cup of coffee and sitting in my new kitchen looking out my double sliding doors to watch the snowfall. Had almost given up on that dream - but today it happened! I am at peace with the world!

By the way, can you tell I love snow?

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope the next year brings your heart's desires.

I guess living in Michigan, I just take snow for granted. So glad you got to enjoy the beautiful landscape this morning.

I used to live near Knoxville in 71-72 and ONCE it snowed enough to make snowmen and even lasted for a day or two. The only problem was that I was downtown Knoxville shopping when the snow started. By the time I got to Chapman highway it had accumulated an inch or two and the police weren't letting people onto the highway. Finally the officer let me go on through after I showed him my Illinois driver's license. But he warned me that if I should run into the ditch I was on my own. LOL I only had to go 12 miles and the snow was really nothing.

Congratulations on your beautiful day. We have snow too. It started yesterday around noon and snowed the rest of the day. We're supposed to get flurries through today and tomorrow.

I'm glad you have snow. We live in the Lake Michigan snow belt, so I take it for granted too--and love it. We'll be driving through TN on Monday on our way to see our son in FL. Hope the roads are all clear by then.

Beautiful snow. That is the only time I like snow...when I can stay inside and look at it. No snow in W TN, just flurries here. Merry Christmas.

Just as my family were heading out the door for home last night, the snow started falling. Boy it really was coming down fast and they all had about a 25 minute ( good weather) drive to get home. Daughter called about 45 minutes later to say she and her son were home safe, then the calls from the other . Then mom could really relax! It wasn't terribly cold, so I sat out on the front porch with a hot cup of coffee, watching the falling snow . everything seemed so quiet for a change, and so peaceful. We live very close to a major road around town , so usually traffic is noisy. A wonderful end to a wonderful evening with my family.
