Ours stays at 78, 79. Keeps the bills payable and if we feel too hot in the house, we just step outside for a few minutes and then appreciate the temp in the house.

We pretty much keep it at 75. I can't tolerate the heat when it's mixed with the humidity here.

79 when I'm gone for work and 74 when I'm home. I have two ceiling fans that are never turned off. We've had a number of days over 100 degrees. I am sick of summer!

For summer, we have electronic thermostats and set them at 76 in the areas we are in (morning or evening) and 78 when not there. We'll also run the ceiling fans.

Linda - I can relate to this. I'm 77 - & sometimes when my kids come over they say my house is 'warmer', so when I know they are coming over I do set the AC a LITTLE lower & put on a lt. jacket. (usually I keep it at about 76-77 days, 78 nite)

Perhaps if mom had some cute lt. sweaters, jackets or even lt. sweat shirts it would help? They help me.

75 to 78 and it only runs when the temp goes over 90. At night we turn it off and open up the windows.

Mine stays on 78 in the summer, 74 in the winter. I'm still fighting the effects of chemo so I stay cold...but even that has it's advantages...the electricity bill is about half what it used to be...
