28 degrees currently with wind chill making it 25. We have a Winter Storm Warch in effect because we are expecting a freezing rain turning to ice.

Last time that happenened, you could not even walk on the sidewalk, power lines fell down, animals could not be fed, all because of the ice. There was about three inches covering everything. Really nasty. County was shut down for three days.

We have enough gas for generator, candles for light, games to play, blankets, pantry full, water in jugs, we are prepared.

Just concerned for the chickens and the goat.

Bring it on!

Merry Christmas!

It is Christmas evening in South Texas and it is 35 degrees. The gas logs are flaming in the fireplace and I am still covered in one of my favorite quilts. We have very few days like this, so we have to enjoy them. I hope that you all have had a happy and blessed Christmas Day.
Quilted Kisses,
Helen

Freezing rain tonight here  warming tomorrow to rain and daytime highs in the 40's lows to where I would be worried about unexpected icy patches til noonish...

It's a very uncomfortable 88 degrees right now. Don't you wish we could take some heat from summer and cold from winter and switch them?

In NC we had 10 days of 90 plus and the last 3 days have been in the eighties and low humidity so that has been a real treat. Next week back to the 90's and high humidity--summer in the south.
