It depends where you are. Usually towards the end of Sept. but it varies from year to year.

I live in Colorado, south of Denver. It definitely depends on the area you live and how quickly the seasons change each year. Where I live, it is usually in September that we start to see the leaves change and they are usually gone by the end of October.

I am sure someone from the mountains will see this and chime in, too!

What about the area of Aspen or Colorado Springs or Rocky Mt National Park? Thinking about coming around Labor Day

I'm from Grand Jct. and it always started changing up in the mountains the latter half of Sept. I think Color Sunday used to be around the 23 or something like that. It really depends on a lot of factors. If it starts getting cold early, etc. Not sure about Aspen. It is a little higher elevation than Grand Mesa near Grand Jct. so it might start there a bit earlier.

Haven't you heard the popular saying of Colorado?

If you don't like the weather, wait an hour.

Lived there most of my life.

Depends on the weather-wet, cold, heat, and what area because of altitude. Best time is about the third week in September. Follow the news reports and they uaually will tell you where the best colors are.
