Keeping it in hiding is better than the woman in Az that told kids names, school, home address. Now that's a safety problem! I would like to know who is in my area also -maybe to have a get-together.

You know, there's nothing wrong with telling a city, or the closet nearby large city if you live in a smaller suburban area. This way, it gives general location, but not enough where anyone could do any damage or hunt you down.

As a former I/T Professional, this is a pretty safe item, especially when you're not using your real name anyway. (Never use your real, full name or correct birthday - use the first/last/15th day of the month for security reasons).

Just my thoughts on security...I like everyone to be safe :)

I completely agree- you could use just your state, or area of a state, like, Eastern Pennsylvania- I like to know generally where a person is from.

My name and pic is there simply because I don't have anything great to show for my avatar, and I can't think up a clever name.

Just send a pm to the admin with the new name you want to be seen there and they will change it. Just did mine last week and they were very prompt about it.
