There should be some sort of mechanism that would make a cell phone not work while a vehicle is in motion. That way, to answer an in-coming call or place a call or send a text, the driver would have to pull over and stop.

Very sad. So many lives ruined over a stupid text!

I have that same thing already in MY car.
It's called RESPONSIBILITY.
Everyone knows that if they call me and I don't answer, watch the clock and then call again in 15 minutes, because it might take me 10 minutes to find a safe place to stop. I volunteered in a hospital for over 28 years, and saw masses of bloody babies and adults brought in through ER. I don't want to be one of them, nor do I want to be the cause of an accident.

I hate this!! In CA it is illegal to use the cell phone at all while driving, yet every day I get behind or next to someone who is talking or texting, and weaving all over or going too slow or sitting still at the intersection after the light turns green. It is so maddening!!

It's like the train conductor in CA that was texting and ran into another train and all those people got killed. WHY??? Foolishness!!! UGH!!

Against the law in ND as-of this past Monday of "NO TEXTING while DRIVING". Hope the rest of the other 20 some states to do the same.
