Texas has been in the worst drought since record keeping began. Forecasters are saying it will continue for another two years. Sounds like the Almanac may be right. Hope not!

They all went to Texas for the winter?

Geesh....I was just thinking that I usually go by the horses coats. They haven't really started to grow their winter coat yet around here anyway...West Tennessee..then I read the almanac...no wonder...

I've not seen any wooly worms here yet and haven't checked out the persimmon trees. We are getting loads of acorns already though.

The prediction for the St. Louis area is a repeat of last year. I hope not. We had tornadoes on New Years Eve that damaged an entire neighborhood that still has not recovered. Then more tornadoes on Good Friday and then the tornadoes that destroyed Joplin and killed almost 160 people. I do not want another repeat of that! I don't do well in cold or hot either. So I am basically housebound for may months of the year.

I have seen many black wooly worms, have no clue what that means.

There was a post on here several months ago with what the Farmers Almanac was predicting. For us here in the mid Atlantic states it did not look good. Above normal precipitation, above normal snow fall, below normal temperature. Go figure!

Does the Farmers Almanac ever update their prediction?

There was an article in our local paper about the lack of those wooly caterpillars. Wonder why they are so scarce while another type of caterpillar is everywhere. Forgot the name of that one but it's white with a dark head and tail and the "fur" causes a reaction if you touch them.
