    Word List - onomatopoeic words

I still can't say that 'o' word correctly - but I enjoy those kinds of words - words that sort of sound like what it is/does

Please add to my short list:

    plop
    whoosh
    sizzle
    fizzle
    crackle
    quack
    squish

Awesome job! I have my students do this every year and many of my 7th graders struggle to come up with a list.

Many of us have been around a lot longer !

I like the sound of kumquat - but it's a tiny fruit that tastes sort of sweet-sour oranges - and the word has nothing to do with the sound of its name.

    stutter
    spit
    gulp
