Ive been working on our yard for the last couple of weeks now. Its a chore, but at least 1 that i enjoy..
I asked my DH if i could have a sexy topless gardener to do the harder parts... he agreed on the stipulation that the gardener be female lol.. defeated my purpose for asking, so im doing it myself lol

We had a lot of rain so the creek in the backyard overflows at times. Here is my back yard a couple of weeks ago:

and how the yard looks now. I am planting birdhouse gourds this week.

Ive got my onions, lettuce and spinach in and coming up! Can't wait for a great big salad! Also some lettuce that actually made it through the winter from last fall. Looks a little tattered, but putting on new leaves. I can't believe it with the winter we had. Oh and some sweet william starting to bloom... seems early.

Yard work? Yuck! My Dad says it's genetic - he doesn't like yard work & his grandfather disliked working the land so much he left Orkney in Scotland & moved to Canada....and it'a come on down to me too! Besides, mine's mostly roses & if I even get a light scratch, it scars.
I'll stick to the rotary cutter & sewing machine instead - but I do love to see all your garden pictures :D :D :D

I am hoping to get the lawns raked this week, but with our weather who knows!! Saturday we had SNOW!! My flower garden in the front is still frozen three inches down, at least I got them cleaned out last fall, so I just have to wait on the ground to thaw and I can get my bulbs planted.

It's a blank canvas here so I'm looking forward to planning new gardens...hubby isn't as excited, he hates when I get that gleam in my eye! It usually means he's gonna be digging, with his back problems, he'll just have to supervise this year! LOL

I'm not ready for flowers yet. We have had a couple nights that are close to freezing. I'm holding off a while yet.
