Very true.
Yes we do. But let's celebrate THEM, not made up stories about TV stars!
Well said!

Any man or woman who serves, whether overseas or state side in my eyes are heros. A hero doesn't need to be someone who won a special medal or risked their lives by stepping in front of gunfire. In the military in my eyes even the support personnel are heros. Those men and women who may not ever see gun fire, those who attend to those who have been wounded, those who feed those who have been wounded, those who just sit behind a desk processing paper work are as important as those who risk their lives. Today should remind us all how at risk they are. The Pentagon attack should remind us how at risk they are. The Beruit bombing should remind us how at risk they are.
I don't mean to demean the extra sacrafice that those who in harms way give, but lets remember it takes more than the ground soldier to keep our military running.
If you want to read of a true hollywood hero who was a hero before he was an actor. Check out the following the link.

Wasn't John Wayne in the military? I know Audie Murphy was.

There were many actors who served, but there are the important everyday heroes: police, fire, teachers, military, and any one who donates time to help others, whether here or elsewhere, since they are the ones willing to do the jobs.

Any veteran who has honorably served his/her country is eligible to be buried in a National Cemetary, regardless of the civilian occupation. Many people believe that Arlington is the only National Cemetary, but it's not.

I noticed that Raymond Burr was listed on this site. He was born in Canada. I googled his name and read that he did not serve in the US military. Hard to tell what is the REAL truth on this internet thing without of loads of research.
The listing on the blu-ray site says that Burr seems to have fabricated the stores about his service.

The blu-ray blog is most interesting and pretty well researched. I enjoyed reading it. Thanks!
