Check out the plate on the machine. Has dates of the patents so very cool!

if the Union is still around..i will bet they would like the card, or a copy of it.
our union hall has a collection on display.of old union badges, contract books, paycheck stubs etc..
what a special find!

Maybe the union can tell you his last address. and go from there. I didn't know the machines had hidden drawers. I've always wanted a treadle. I got my eye one one at a local auction house having a antique sale in less than a month. Hope it doesn't go to high. thanks for sharing this story it was fascinating Mary
