    Brand new

And still waiting on my machine to arrive! When I say I'm new, I have less than an hour's worth of experience on any sewing machine.

So yeah I'm a little wet behind the ears.....*drips water*

welcome from Long Island NY. Where are you located? You could always quilt by hand when you're waiting for a machine to arrive. good luck and have fun!! We're a very supportive group here.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

Howdy from Texas! I just know you will enjoy this board as there are so many helpful quilters here. Just ask as many questions as you can think of & you will get answers. We are a friendly bunch & love new members. Are you anywhere near Danvers, MA? I support a charity group in Danvers by making medical face masks for kids in hospitals.

Welcome! Enjoy the adventure! I'd suggest you take a beginner's class either in person locally, or online from somewhere like Craftsy.com. You may want to take a beginner sewing machine class, just to get familiar with how a sewing machine works.

All that being said... I was self taught! If you want to learn, you will.

Did you buy online then? I always buy from a dealer when I buy new, but I have bought several vintage machines from eBay. I hope it gets there soon.

Welcome from Arizona! The best piece of advice I can offer when sewing is when things start to become frustrating or overwhelming; take a break, walk away and do something else for a couple minutes to give your mind a chance to relax. You will be surprised how much better things will go when you go back to your sewing project.
