    Bryan G here from Texas

My last hobby was fishing but it soiled my fine clothes & the mess was terrible so I have decided to seek out my feminine side by making quilts for my many cold lonely nights. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from like minded gals. x0x0x0x byran g

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. I quilt year round and fish in the summer. I draw the line at cleaning fish though since it messes up my hands for quilting.

in the Texas heat I prefer light colored clothes cottons & linens mostly, they certainly kept me comfortable but dirty water, mud & fish parts stained them horribly as to I couldn't wear them out in public again...oh gracious, ...that smell permeates my mind when I think of it.

Welcome from Vermont. Fishing is good for thinking. So.....when you are trying to put the next quilt together just find some old clothes, think, and make the next quilt.

Welcome from SC Texas. Love to fish but as I get older the hot sun and bug bites turn me to my quilting.

Hi, and welcome to the board, from Central Texas. Fishing is OK, but only if they're biting. Otherwise, I'd rather be making quilts.

Totally agree with you about the fishing and ruining one's clothes. It's also very hard on a manicure. Quilting is so much more civilized, and no bugs! And just think of the beautiful quilts you can make! It's a learning curve, you can't get around that. I was a seamstress (as a hobby), and a good one, yet was humbled by all the new skills I had to learn in order to quilt well. In fact, am still learning! And since I'm in the right place for that, you must be as well! Truly, this Quilting Board is awesome! A wonderful, welcoming group of very talented and experienced quilters who are more than willing to share their knowledge.

So welcome aboard from sunny Nevada!
