I have made two crazy quilts. Made one for my daughter last Christmas and it was fabulous. Turned around and made one for my son/daughter-in-law this Christmas. I made 20 blocks 18 x 18 and it was a perfect size. I used muslin for my foundation and used fancy materials, taffeta, velvet, silk tie scraps, and much lace, and embellishments. It took me four months to make (and yes, I work full time). I started with a five-sided scape near the middle of my block and then just sewed one scrap on to the next- right sides together - be sure to press after each seam. I just put my ironing board down to chair level and only had to made a half turn to press each seam. When the block was finished, I then did the embellishment and fancy stitches by hand. Quite a labor of love but so beautiful. :)

I don't think I can add pictures to this site, but would be happy to send you a hard copy picture. Just let me know where. Gloria

What a great idea - setting up the ironing board down to chair level. Why haven't I thought of that?! What a time saver! Would love to see pictures of your crazy quilts. Hope you can figure out how to add them to the site.
