I stumbled on here this morning before going to work.
I am kind of a new quilter. I have 4 sewing machines, the newest is a Janome Hello Kitty one that is more portable than the other 20+ years old ones. My stash is only 4 or 5 bins, of which are chock full, but never enough.
My current project is 12 Sun Bonnet Sue blocks I got that was sashed together, but I unstitched all the blocks and am attempting to space them out enough for a full size light weight quilt. If I had the pattern, and knew how to applique, I'd make some more Sun Bonnet Sue Blocks, but I don't, and yet I am endeared by it, and am compelled to finish what this nice lady I bought them from started. The question: Will I finish before I need a heavy quilt?
Oh, and I'm doing this inbetween making Miracle Quilts [we meet in Oxford MI] for our wounded troops. I've made one quilt top, and am almost done with another so far. See picture, and ignore the 2 blocks turned sideways. LOL

Welcome from another Michigander. I love Sunbonnet Sue. It should be nice when you are finished. Your quilt top is very nice. I'm sure it will be well used by some deserving soldier.

Am I missing something...I see a beautiful top and all the blocks look perfect. Great job and welcome.

Thanks every one!
It was suposed to be a scrappy quilt - with all the background tans being random. I used some tan blocks with red stars and arranged them in a chain. 2 of these [2nd row up from the bottom] were outa place, and I didn't notice until I was editing the picture. I have since fixed them. I know many wouldn't notice, but I feel our soldiers are giving us their best, so they deserve my best.
