Welcome to the boards, Grandma'sgirl, glad to have you here. I'm a little south of you in the Seattle area.

I really envy those of you who come from a family tradition of quilting, I had to get it started in my family

    Welcome.

I, too, stumbled across this site while looking for something else.

I have learned a lot from the other members here.

Iceblossom, how wonderful of you to start the tradition in your family! I have seen some of your work! And wow, you have inspired me. While I absolutely love the heritage that was given to me, it also comes with the weight of responsibility. I know it needs to be passed on. The stories, patterns of the familiar quilts, and some of the techniques. When you are the first one, you get to create your own! I certainly will get to that as well, but I think there are good things either way. And Iceblossom, you are making such an inspiring start!

Thank you for the greeting, Granky! I love your log cabin avatar! It looks so much like my grandmother ‘s wool log cabin quilt, just smaller. Southern Indiana is lovely! Hope to run into you, again!

    Hello and welcome.

This is a fun place. It's nice that you have special memories of quilt times with your grandma.
