    Greetings from Delaware

    (the state, not Ohio).

    Hi all,

I'm a long time knitter/crocheter who has decided to try my hand at quilting. I'm a hand quilter by necessity (I don't have a sewing machine), but if I wanted fast, I'd just go to the store. I also apparently don't understand the concept of "beginner projects", so I'm halfway through piecing the top of a twin-sized quilt. Just wanted to say hi, and let you know I may be stopping by if I get stuck.

Howdy from NJ! Nothing wrong with hand sewing/quilting. I find it wonderfully relaxing. Where are you in DE? I'm in the northern part of the state about monthly.

Welcome from Louisiana. You are a lot braver than I am. I started with pot holder and had a heck of a time with them; couldn't match pinwheels very well at all.

Welcome Katdai! Hope everything goes well. You are certainly brave to start on a twin sized quilt and all by hand. Do post pictures on here. We love to see everything. Keep watching garage sales - you will find a nice machine that will get you really hooked. So happy you're here! :-)

Thanks all. I'm not even finished quilting my first project and I've already broken down, bought some basic equipment, and started planning my next quilt. Is that how it normally goes?
