About the fabric from the US trip: I did get brave. I found a project in the AP&Q magazine from about five years ago called "Aussie Muster" and promptly turned that into an "American/Canadian Roundup".
It's a log cabin design with moose, bears, puffins, otters in the centre block. I used strips of fabrics I had bought from other places on our trip. They form one triangle, with cream/white tone on tone stripr for the other half.
The Aussie quilt had koalas, possums and kangaroos).
I'm happy with it so far, but I still have to quilt it. When finished, I hope it will be a trip down memory lane for our wall. Will try and post a pic when it's finished.
