Default Hello from Houston

Hello there!

I am a newbie to sewing and quilting. I can thread a needle and make a few stitches but that about sums up my knowledge on quilting. I recently purchased a Brother Laura Ashley Limited Edition CX155LA Sewing & Quilting machine. I've had many hobbies but I've always enjoyed creating and crafting. I've lived on Pinterest for the past few days and have watched at least a dozen Youtube videos. I have also found blog tutorials to be especially helpful. Yesterday, I purchased some fabric and hope to find time this weekend to play! I'm sure I will have tons of questions along the way and will be appreciative of your wisdom.

Here is the quilt that I have selected to try first. My goal is to have it finished within a month. My two year old is also having a birthday party at the zoo which requires a lot of crafting so that might be a little ambitious but I'm eager so I'm optimistic. I'll post the finished product when I'm finished.

Kindly,
Ray

Welcome from a fellow Houstonian! That's a great quilt to start on. Good luck with it and make sure you don't miss Quilt Festival at the George R Brown this fall. It's awesome.

Welcome from Germany! Good luck with your first quilt! Howdo you like your Brother sewing machine so far? I've got a Brother as well but I'm already looking for an update. The more you sew, the more you expect from your sewing machine.
