Welcome from Missouri! Was born in northern MN, and now love being further south!
I hand quilt with an old fashioned frame on long boards and wooden horses! I quilt with ladies at church where we have lots of room for this old frame.
At home, I hand quilt without a large frame. I have actually pin basted and used the small Q-Snap frame on my lap. I have started using spray basting and quilting without a frame. I have the large Q-Snap frame and used it until I ran out of room for it! (Note to self-Must stop collecting fabric.)

Welcome from Oregon! My daughter lives in Marshall MN. Loads of snow here and there. You will enjoy this board. The folks are very helpful and friendly.
I have a longarm so I can't recommend a frame for you. I know the PVC tends to lose its holding ability. Been there done that.
