Hello and welcome to the board from Huber Heights Ohio. I just started quilting about a year ago, too. I'm sorry to hear about your daughter in-law.

Do you quilt in your RV? We to a little RV'ing, and last summer I met a woman who mentioned hand quilting while traveling (no need for a machine). My first thought was "whoa! You've GOT to be kidding"...but, I'm now well on my way on my first hand sewn quilt..."Grandma's flower garden". I'm pretty excited about it. Only problem is, being from MN, we don't get to RV much (not retired yet), so I'm doing more "home" work done that I am "traveling" work :)

Welcome to the group!

Yes, I quilt in our motorhome. In fact it is our "home". We do not have a stick house. I have not done hand quilting yet. I have machine quilted one quilt, had one machine quilted and turned one. One is being machine quilted for me now, another is waiting on a border. I have my sewing machine and do my sewing at our table(3x4), which means I have to put it back in the bag and put everything away if we want to eat use my laptop, or need the table for something else. It can become a hassle. Today while working on my deer quilt I used the machine, then rotary cut some pieces, then back to the machine to stitch, etc. It's well worth the trouble. I do my layouts on the bed. The quilt I turned we did on a stage at an RV park when we were in Branson, MO. Retirement is great. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Thanks for the welcome.

You are close to our home area in Ohio. We lived in North Dayton. Thanks for the welcome. We'll be back that way this summer to see kids.
