Hello from the North Georgia Mountains!

Welcome from middle Tennessee; not too far from you; also retired AF couple, having celebrated our 48th anniversary recently (but no chickens, we didn't take them up again after we left Texas); just a dog and a couple of cats--but surprisingly all of our kids have moved here to be near us. They get quilts for every occasion, but only because I have a LA, and one of my sons does most of my quilting. I was not a quilter until sometime after the beginning of this century--I was a dressmaker type seamstress; and have moved to quilting exclusively. I love the feeling when I lay out a completed quilt; love seeing what I have created; and know that it will be loved and enjoyed for many years to come--not like a dress or blouse that will last this season and maybe part of next, or in the case of a wedding dress, worn once and never again.

Welcome from Long Island NY. Your quilt is so awesome!!!
come and join a swap and meet new friends. Maybe someone lives
near you. I met a good friend on here that lives 5 miles from me.
We quilt at a bee at her house every week.

Welcome from northwestern Iowa. I like your name Speckled Hen. You have really done an outstanding job on your quilt. Looking forward to reading more posts from you to let us know how you are coming along on the quilting.

Hello from Atlanta! You do beautiful work. Re: machines I have the Juki 2010Q purchased from a local dealer and like it very much. Might could have bought it for a bit less on the internet, but I wanted the support of a local dealer. That said, this machine is not complex, so maybe I should have saved that $100. Anyway, I expect to keep it for life. Do have a smaller machine with fancy stitches, but seldom use it.
