Welcome from Carly in South Carolina. I also started quilting after I had to get done working. It is now my joy in life and I hope it becomes yours. Do you have access to a good quilt shop locally? Or a really good book? I recommend Better Homes And Gardens Complete Guide to Quilting. It really is complete. Also, classes by computer at Craftsy.com are fabulous . Try one of Jenny Doan's beginning precut fabric quilts. Success right out of the box! Let me know if you have need of help finding something or just want to chat. I did get to travel to Scotland briefly many years ago and it felt like home to me. I guess the cells remember where some of our blood is from. All the best in your great quilting adventures. Carly

Welcome to the Board!!
I too am a 'stitcher', but now I incorporate everything I've learned stitching over the years to embellish my quilts!
I can honestly say that I am passionate about quilting! Have a 'stash' and every thing!! (P.S. I learned from a book and didn't know what 'quilting' was, so my first was just 'pieced.' They fell apart in the wash!!!!!!!!) Wait till you cannot go anywhere without knowing if there is a quilt shoppe!!!
