Hello From South Dakota

Bottle Calves are baby calves that have lost their mother for one reason or another and are fed with a 2 quart size bottle. At the present I have 2, I had 3 but had a cow that lost her calf and was able to graph (get her to accept/adopt) #3.
One I have was a twin calf (105 pounds)and due to complications at birth he was unable to walk and could not get up to nurse as normal. So I brought him home, got him to take the bottle and put braces on his front legs. He is now three weeks old, no longer has braces and is doing wonderful! The other one I have was one that the mother gave birth and the next day she was found dead, leaving the calf an orphan. She is also doing super! Hope that answers what bottle calves are, and isn't to lengthy.
