Default Hello

My grandmother made 18 quilt tops and 8 more to put together. My daughter and I have decided to put these heirlooms together and give them to other family members. Neither one of us has much experience with quilting, but we both wish to learn.

Welcome to the Quilting Board from Louisiana. I have found that my local quilt shop is a great place to start. Also, You Tube has lots of quilting help. I use Google and head off to quilt-land.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Try youtube for a visual on how to assemble blocks into a quilt top. Blocks can be sewn to each other or strips of fabric (sashing) can be sewn between them. If you have a local quilt shop, they may have a basic quilt class you can take.

Welcome from southern California! What a wonderful treasure from your grandmother. Your family is fortunate you are willing to take up the projects.
