Hello!
My name's Sara, I'm 25 (26 in about a month) and I'm new to quilting. I have a 15 month old little boy, and found myself struggling to maintain an identity as a person and not just a wife and mom. Don't get me wrong, I love my son to death, but as a stay at home mom, I felt like I was sort of losing myself.
I've always admired quilting, but felt like it was something I didn't have the patience to do. In the past, I've done a lot of fiber crafting, from spinning and dyeing hand-spun yarns to needle felting to textile weaving. A few months ago, I started watching youtube videos on quilting and it seemed much more doable and far less intimidating that I always thought it would be.
So here I am on the living floor cutting out pieces for my first ever quilt. I've decided to try this one by hand rather than hauling out my sewing machine. I'm expecting this to be a long slow crawl to the finish line, but I look forward to enjoying and learning from the process.

Welcome Sara, from OHIO! There is a wealth of information on this board, so if you have questions as you go, just ask and you'll be amazed at the wisdom shared. I wish I had started quilting in my 20s!
