Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan! I hope you will dabble in this art and craft of quilting as you go. Sounds so much like me. Knitting early on and doing had sewing as a kid and young teen and sewing my own clothes before I was in High School. I didn't start quilting until I was in my late 30's. Once I started quilting there was no turning back. I hope you jump right in and enjoy the conversations. Again welcome to the QB.

Hello from Snohomish, just a few miles north of you, we have a fantastic quilt shop here, Quilting Mayhem. They have classes in almost everything you can imagine, lots of fabric, notions and machines. I have been in Hawaiian quilting group (hand applique) and a Westalee ruler group for a couple of years and love the ladies in both; not to mention Mindy and her wonderful staff who are so helpful. There are a lot of shops in the Seattle area and a couple of great quilt shows coming soon. Quilters Anonymous at the Monroe fairgrounds in March and the Everett Quilt show in Everett in May.

To second ThreeDogNight, I made a post in the off line events about the Quilters Anonymous show, it's a great show. Back in the 80s, I used to live out at the county line between Duvall and Monroe, so my old stomping grounds and not that far from Bothell and if you haven't been to the Ben Franklin in Monroe yet, it's one of your better shopping points.
