Another Michigan welcome. You will love this board regardless of what kind of quilts you do. Lots of friendly advise and many ideas of all kinds.

I can piece for hours if it is a tag team and someone else is assembling and I am on the sewing machine, don't mind that at all. We do that occasionally for someone's cause.
I don't mind being on the sewing machine, IF I can get someone else to man the iron! I do all of my half-square triangle piecing on my longarm, so that doesn't bother me. When I get a little antsy it's because I'm almost done sewing the rows together, and everything starts to pull because of the weight!

Ironing is not my favorite either, have seen all kinds of things being done on the longarm but not half square triangles....have to think about that. Was thinking yesterday about how to do a flannel rag quilt. Thought perhaps put all the squares together and then mount on frame and then do the stitching in the squares.
