    Talking hi from Down Under!

... my name is Sharyn, i live in the Hunter Region in NSW, Australia with my husband and 2 kids.

2 years ago my mom passed away from cancer and she left me her sewing machine. I've always wanted to start sewing for my daughter - make her dresses as she is very girly. however i've since gotten sidetracked and thought about making quilts, i've seen them and i think they are so beautiful, unique and one of a kind. So i have alot of fabric that i've bought from various stores and im very excited to start making some thing that resembles a quilt ...

Anyways before i start boring people LOl i look forward to learning so much from you lovely ladies (and gents)

Welcome from Texas. I think you will enjoy quilting but it's very habit forming. Before long it will be more important than a clean house! Sounds like you are off to a good start with a machine & fabric. There are many, many very talented quilters on this board who will be more than willing to help you with any questions you may have. Don't be shy & remember....we love to see pictures of your projects.

welcome from Texas. I began sewing clothing for my small son and myself. by hand. no sewing machine then. later i continued clothing but by machine. When my son was grown i started quilting. but made coat from a twin blanket, all sort of things for the house, kitchen, etc. Loved it all!! You will have great fun watching quilting evolve and you with it.

Welcome from SC Texas. I started sewing clothes for myself then for my DD and then my DGD's. Started quilting in the sixty's and never stopped. I still love making pretty dresses but most of my sewing is quilting. Hope you enjoy being here and you can learn so much from so man people who love quilting and are so ready to share their knowledge with those just starting out. Happy quilting.
