Hi, Everybody
#1
I'm new to this website and enjoy it immensely! I'm very excited about meeting everyone and sharing input, comments, and ideas from all around the world. I am still a beginner in computer skills, and am really lost sometimes now that the kids are grown and have moved out of state (though I am guilty of calling them at work with "how-do-I-do-this" type questions). Your quilt project pictures really keep be motivated, and how-to's have taken a lot of fear away from starting new challenges. Thanks to all for being here.

I've been quilting about 5 years now. I enjoy "instant gratification" type projects, so haven't attempted anything larger than twin size. I make a lot of crib blankets, quilted totes and purses (inspired from Vera Bradley) and usually do charity lap and baby quilts in between the "for me and mine" stuff. I'm still struggling with machine quilting and usually stick with stitch-in-the-ditch or straight lines. I've recently bought a "cheap" Brother sew-and-embroidery machine from Walmart to add to my collection of machines, but haven't figured out how to use it. I want to be able to put monograms and names and dates onto quilts and bags.
