Welcome! Measure carefully and keep your seams even! After that, the sky is the limit!

Pommom, Hi and welcome from North Carolina!
I too am a beginner and working mom. I am currently working on my 3rd and 4th quilts. Finding time is a challenge. Well, actually I am quilty of putting off housework that I should be doing and instead quilting all weekend. DH likes to do woodworking in his barn and my daughter that's still at home is 14 and entertains herself. I try and get some of my chores done during the week after work so I can "play" all weekend. Also, its been working out so that every couple of months I take a day or 2 off of work just for myself and I quilt all day which is what I did today.
Good luck and I'll be looking for future posts with pictures showing all the beautiful quilts you've created.

Welcome. I'm pretty new to this quilting board also. Really just got started on it last night but I'm addicted! We were all beginners at one time or another & you will find that other quilters will help you with anything at anytime. But just from experience, if you can take a beginners class, you will benefit greatly from it. I couldn't believe how many short cuts I learned in my first class & then I couldn't take enough quilting classes! You will never stop learning! But have fun doing it!
