Hello form the Western suburbs. There are several guilds in the area. I belong to DCQG. We meet the 4th Thursday of the month in Sycamore. Then there is Prairie Star in St. Charles. That one is closer to you and they have a day and a night meeting. Both of these guilds have shows this fall and I will be happy to give you times and places. A show is a great place to start. You get to see what they do and how they function. Also check you local LQS. They should have info for local guilds.

This board is wonderful, but you need to join a guild to submerge yourself into the quilting world. You local quilt shop may be able to recommend a guild or group of quilters to you.

Hi welcome from Ohio. Yes visit quilt shops near you. Sometimes a great way to meet others is taking a class at your nearby quilt shop, and check out quilt guilds too.
Plus you will have all your virtual friends here.
