Thank You all for all the great information on quilt shops, and the warm welcomes. I've been visiting this site since 2009. I know it takes me awhile to warm up to new people and things. I've been quilting since 2004, I have taken a a couple of classes from a quilt shop in VA. (I miss them deeply). But mostly I've been kind of teaching myself.
If I posted right below are two quilts that I just finished and one I am working on.
One thing I really love about all the quilters on this site is the readiness to help.

The Textile Shop in Berry Hill (south of Nashville) on Franklin Rd somewhat close to 100 Oaks Mall is having a sale. It's about the only time I go to buy. They're pricey but with the sale you can find good buys especially with the remnants. It learns toward garment fabric but some can be incorporated into quilts.

    Franklin TN

Quilting Squares on Hwy 31 north of Mack Hatcher Parkway --excellent customer service and classes

Stichers Garden in the Kmart Plaza off HWY96 and the freeway ---more fabric than you can shake a needle at. Prices are set at the time the fabric arrived. You'll find some in the $8 range and perhaps even lower...you'll understand when you get there.

    -------------------------------------------

I used to visit my boys at UT-Knoxville. Here are the places I'd stop along the way.

    Crossville

Little Blessings Good customer service and classes

    Harriman

Loose Threads Broad range of fabrics

    Knoxvile

Mammaw's Large selection well laid out.
