Hi Im Nellie short for Lynelle
I live in a country town about 2 hours south of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. I started quilting Nov 2006. Due to an illness I had to leave my job to help with my recovery. When I was feeling better I had always wanted to learn quilting and now had the time.
I joined a small group of ladies and we have so much fun. We talk alot and laugh but we do get some work done.
My love of Bali brought me to make and design my first quilt, (which I have posted a picture of). I have gone on to make new friends and a few more quilts. I love to hand sew and dont like to use the machine much. So far my quilts have been hand quilted as well by myself.
I also make earflap beanies and sell these on ebay. During my time off work I also learnt to spin as my sister has Alpaca's and we have so much wool. Spinning is fun and I now have a nice supply of spun wool to start making more beanies for our up coming snow season.
Im now back working but I still make time for quilting and my other crafts.

Welcome, Nellie! Glad to hear you are recovering, and joining a group of supportive ladies to help you learn to quilt is wonderful! They'll take care of you in many more ways than just giving you pointers on quilting.
Those of us here can do the same, but it's a cyberspace support system, almost as good!

Welcome to the Board Nellie! You've found a huge, wonderful, fun, caring group here. If you have questions, someone's bound to have an answer or a way to help you figure out the problem. It's nice to see the group grow & get more international! :D
