Hi...I am new as well.
I am a granny of 5. Son has 3 daughters..2 are identical twins. My daughter has girl/boy twins just 13 months younger than the other set. I am a self taught quilter as well.
I ade my first 2 quilts when son and daughter were 5 and 3 years old. I made them from old recycled jeans with an old electric blanket as the batting. (cords removed of course) and used flannel sheets as the backing. Used 6" squares made from cardboard. I used yarn to tie them together. Needless to say...my 2 kids are still using them.
So many new things in quilting now. I am back quilting again now. My sewing room is now in order and waiting on me. Time for me to start up my old 1957 Singer that I call 'Nellie'
This site is so great...so many are so experienced and the forums are wonderful.
Happy Quilting :D

Hello and welcome from Kentucky. Sorry about the job. I feel your pain. I've lost 2 this year because of the economy. Upside: more time to quilt. Downside: less money to spend on fabric!
