Hi,
Never posted before. I'm new to quilting but have made a couple of quilts with help. . lots of help. Any ideas for first BIG quilts? I love Joy's
Rail Fence and I love this site!

Welcome, Sandi! The rail fence is a great choice as a first large project, if you'd like an all-over pattern. Another idea is to find lots of same-size blocks and make a sampler style quilt. When you're new to quilting, this can help you learn piecing skills without having to repeat the same block over and over! Challenging, but fun!

My first was a big log cabin - they are easy to strip piece and have so many ways to arrange blocks that I still love them. I bet I've done ten over the years, with no two looking alike.

Hi,

I LOVE the log cabin designs.. I thought it might be too much to start. But I might try a block to see. I need experience in rotary cutting and piecing.

Thanks for your reply

Hi
I will give that some consideration. I'm taking a quilting course in May and I think that one is a sampler..
Thanks

Sandi..I know where Chelmsford is. It seems whenever I do meet someone from MA they are all from east of 128. I think people that live outside of MA believe that it ends at 128 and west of that is just one big barren land. LOL. Nice to have you on board. :-)
