I've been enjoying reading from the "Main Topics" for the last couple of weeks; today I decided to register. I'm 56 yrs. young and have been quilting for the last few years. I've sewn/mended since I was a teen, but it was a dear friend who got me hooked on quilting. My mom quilted in the '80s, '90s, and early '00s, but had to quit due to arthritis (guess who inherited all her "stuff"!!!) We live far apart and I was not involved...just the receiver of her work. I'm a transplanted American, having moved to Canada from Connecticut in '79 to marry my daughters' father. It's home now, but I'm still only a US citizen! I re-married officially 13 yrs. ago (have been living together for 17) to a wonderful man (Social Worker) and we now have a "blended" family; we both have 25 yr. old daughters, I have a 23 yo daughter and DH has a 21 yo son. We live about an hour north of Toronto...in the country. We raise Labs...used to breed Quarter Horses (no $ in that and needed extra for Colleges). I've been a RN for MANY yrs., doing all kinds of nursing and still love it. I've done CURVES since I was 47 and Yoga. I haven't ever done a large quilt. I like working on smaller items...I do a lot of hand sewing and I like all kinds of quilting methods. Anyone who gets up my way, give me a shout. I'll take you on a personal "quilt shop hop".
