Welcome.
I started a few years ago by watching a quilting show on TV and purchasing as many old quilting magazines as I could lay my hands on.
People say the best quilts are made for those we love so you have started off right.

Hello and welcome from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA-Don't be afraid to start quilting. Try basic blocks(squares) first and brfore you know it you will be looking for more ways toput your fabrics together. GOOD LUCK
