Welcome from Southern California! Sewing with small children is great therapy. It always felt like I was doing something just for myself, regardless of what I was sewing. When one of my sons was about 10, I made a green plaid shirt jacket for him. When he outgrew it, it went to the little boy next door, who also cherished it. It's one of my best memories!

Welcome to the boards, Talia. The internet is so great for help with quilting, when I started I was rather young and intimidated by the little old quilting ladies and I am self-taught as the result of many painful learning experiences. As I've become one myself, I've found that we as a group are pretty wonderful people and I am glad you have joined us.
