Hi From VA

I have been quilting about 3 years. My first quilt was a queen size and I made it using my sewing machine and my bed as a table. Apartment was so small I didn't have enough floor space to lay out a queen sized quilt. After my husband passed away and I moved back in with my widowed mother, I now have a large room and have made several more bed quilts, baby quilts, lap quilts, etc. and have purchased a GMQ Pro Machine quilter and Juki machine. After work and on weekends I have a lot of time on my hands. I would eventually like to make a little money selling quilts, but so far the ones I have made have been gifts. Any suggestions on how to go about selling quilts, i.e., how to charge (hourly or size), etc. I have really enjoyed this website over the last few months, and just never got around to registering. Have learned a lot from here.

Caryl Bryer Fallert has an interesting FAQ on her website about how she prices her work. Granted, she's a super pro, but perhaps her guidelines will be of some help to you.
