Hello,
My name is Mona and I am a new quilter. I just finished a table topper that didnt turn out too bad. I just did it in squares. I now want to try triangles (halves) and do a lap quilt. (I am working my way up) but I dont know how much fabric to get for a 52 x 52 quilt using 2-3 different colors + backing. Can anyone help? I was planning on going to the fabric store today and then realized I didn't know what I was doing. Can anyone help?

Now how do I cut those triangles? Since I am new, I just want to do triangles from 4x4 squares to make a 52 x 52 lap quilt. The calculator told me how much to get with 3 fabrics but I don't know how to handle the corners of the triangles. It appears on tv that the points are trimmed off?

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I am off to fabric store and then I will come back and see what all you quilting gurus can tell me about what to do next. I dont even have a pattern. I am so excited though!
