Thanx all ... I'm still working on the 'navy' thing ...
I have learned: I cannot draw an anchor ...
I can draw a star and came up with a navy star using a Road to Paradise block in a 5x5 setup with cornerstones, whereupon an anchor can be embroidered and other info on the other cornerstones. That may be as good as it gets ..
I do have a new machine to ME that does embroidery, I just haven't learned to use it yet .. been having to much fun piecing.
Working on a lonestar for a GF in NY as a wedding gift -- she has a king size bed (extra large) and a broken star made from log cabin blocks for my sister's 25th wedding anniversary. The lone star needs one last border and then I can press and hand off to quilter .. the log cabin is 1/2 built on the wall and the other half is waiting for me to patiently sit and sew
But being 80+ today I've had other things on my mind ..
and now there's supper, pork ribs in bbq, baked beans and a potato for the man ..
Thanx again for the welcome ..
