I am new from Raleigh NC and love to sew anything. Lately , one of my bees are doing a fractured quilt. There are 5 of us doing this- each has chosen a picture which was cut up into 5 pieces and each of us got one piece which we will copy that picture piece in fabric. When all the pieces are returned to the owner, she will put them all together and themn quilt the piece. I am excited about doing this- it really stretches your abilities and is so challenging. We are taking a year to do all of them so when mine is done, I 'll submit a photo. Dorothy

Dorothy,
Your quilt project does sound like a challenge. The art teacher at the school I taught at had his students do this type of project only with drawing. It was amazing to see all their parts put togther to make a huge whole that look very much like the original picture. I'm looking forward to your sharing the finished quilt. Can hardly wait!
In the meantime welcome to the group! Be sure to keep us posted on the progress of your quilts and post lots of pictures.

Being a newbie at this, I’m amazed at the number of concepts and terms. Fractured quilting sounds interesting to say the least. Thanks for the explanation, it makes perfect sense to me now, though in practice sounds much like a potluck. I hope it turns out well… and oh yeah, welcome to the group Dorothy.
