This is flannel with bamboo/cotton batting that is about the density and consistency of flannel. I'd agree, it would be lighter and more comfortable without the batting. Instead of spring and fall, this is a winter quilt. Perhaps I should start calling it my 'ice fishing quilt'...

In future projects, I do plan to try a quilt without batting, and a cotton quilt with full size off-color flannel batting. I think the 'surprise' color in the fringe would look cool.

Yeah, that's kind of how I feel about mine, too. 15-20 minutes under it and you're definitely cookin'!

Nice rag quilt. I want to make one of denim and flannel, but haven't found the time yet. I'm learning as I read about yours here.

I have seen quite a few threads about making rag quilts from denim. As a big guy, it won't take too many pairs of pants to make a quilt! Guess I'll have to add this to my list of things to try...

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my quilt.
