Do you want a 'formal' BOM (block of the month) where you buy pattern and material together from a site or do you want to just follow what others are doing with free patterns and your own fabric?
Just about every online quilt shop has a BOM going. The easiest way to find them are to try the ShopHop. It is free to register and you will have many shops to look through. Here is the link for that: http://www.fabshophop.com/main.asp
If you want to do it on your own there are several here. Look through this area: http://www.quiltingboard.com/s-9-1.htm
Some are going on now and some are done, but you could still follow and get ideas from them.
There are several places for free patterns. This is my favorite. Just make sure that you get all the same sized blocks.....

Also, Welcome!
